Case Study - PasPic

PasPic provide a digital passport photo-printing service. The user must take a photo that meets the US and UK government regulations for biometric-compliance and this is explained in a long list of instructions (see it here).

Yehuda Hecht (founder) wanted to use both video and screencasts to show the user how to take compliant photographs and how to upload them into the PasPic site.

It is well known that if a task seems to be complicated then a user will often put it off 'to do later' and subsequently they don't 'do it later' - it is likely that this results in lost sales.

'Taking a Compliant Photograph' video:

One of the solutions to this problem is to produce a video which talks the user through the process of taking a compliant photograph. The result can be seen here for adult photographs with an equivalent pair for videos for child and baby photographs.
